Policy for All Museum Admissions, Events, and Gatherings

JAMsj’s full Covid Policy may be read here.

  1. MASKS ARE REQUIRED DURING GROUP TOURS AND ON THE 2ND FLOOR.

While on Group Tours or on the 2nd Floor of JAMsj during Operations Hours, all guests and staff/volunteers over 2 years old will be required to wear a well-fitting face mask (multi-layer masks that cover the nose, mouth, and chin, without any gaps on the sides with surgical masks or higher-level respirators being recommended) at all times, except when eating or drinking in areas where doing so is allowed.

Exceptions can be made for special programs or facility rentals that include exclusive use of the 2nd Floor space.

  2. Masks RECOMMENDED, BUT NOT REQUIRED, ON THE FIRST FLOOR AND AGRICULTURAL EXHIBIT FOR REGULAR ADMISSIONS.

With the exception of Group Tours, which require all participants to be masks, visitors to JAMsj 1st Floor Exhibits are not required to wear masks.

  3. PROOF OF VACCINATION NO LONGER REQUIRED

As of 10/20/2022, Proof of Vaccination will no longer be required to enter the Museum or participate in events or tours.

Optionally Available

CA Notify for Tracking: As an added layer of protection for themselves and the community, guests and staff/volunteers may sign up for CA Notify to receive alerts when they have been in close contact with someone who tests positive for COVID-19. Those who test positive for COVID-19 may alert CA Notify to anonymously notify those who may have been exposed.

Safety Precautions Taken by the Museum

Monitoring: The museum tracks the current local risk-level monthly to assess whether our policies and protocols are adequate. Our policies are based on guidance from the CDC and local health authorities. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/your-health/covid-by-county.html

Air Quality: In addition to the safety measures listed above, JAMsj has upgraded our air filtration system with Merv-13 filters and, weather permitting, will open the doors of the Museum to facilitate air flow during open hours.
