JAMsj Stands Against Racism
The Japanese American Museum of San Jose and its Hidden Histories of San Jose Japantown project are heartbroken at the murder of George Floyd and other Black Americans who were senselessly killed, weeks and years before him. We condemn the racism and hate that too often ignite and accompany these tragedies.
As a community having experienced the repercussions of war, prejudice and discrimination, we feel strongly that meaningful acts of justice and accountability are needed now more than ever. We hope this is a turning point for our nation and for all people.
As an organization that values community history, we also value life, aspirations and relationships represented in that history. It is our hope that people can create history that is full of life, love, joy, as well as justice and truth.
