In conjunction with the 75th Anniversary of the Executive Order 9066, SJSU has put together an exhibit of photos and artifacts.
Welcome to the joint exhibit about the incarceration of Japanese Americans in the 1940s and 75th anniversary of Executive Order 9066. The exhibit was co-curated by Mr. Jimi Yamaichi and Mr. Glenn Tsutsumi of the Japanese American Museum of San Jose and Ms. Rebecca Kohn of SJSU Library. The items in this exhibit are from three different collections:
- SJSU Special Collections and Archives
- Japanese American Museum of San Jose
- Private collection of Ralph Pearce
The exhibit is located on the 5th floor of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Library inside the Special Collections hallway. King Library is located at 4th and San Fernando in downtown San Jose and serves as the joint university and main branch of San Jose Public Library.
This exhibit also announces the launch of the CSU Japanese American Database, which includes the full text and media resources of items held in 14 different libraries, representing 300 linear feet of archival material. Access the database at www.csujad.com
February 17th to March 17th, 2017
